zC's 100 Games To Play Before You Die: Pt. 18
Published 2009-05-13 6:00PMWelcome to the seventeenth part of zConnection’s 100 Games To Play Before You Die, where we will be giving you a low-down of the 100 games (in no particular order) that any self-respecting gamer must play before their personal “Game Over”. From Asteroids to Half-Life, Bust-A-Move to The Longest Journey, expect to see a few familiar faces… and a few unfamiliar ones.
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls is possibly one of the longest running role playing game franchises still going today, the first game starting development in 1992, making the series half a decade older than Fallout. The first game started life as an arena brawler but slowly made its way into role playing - and you better be grateful about that because it’s spawned one of the best role playing franchises yet.
Morrowind was the third instalment in the Elder Scrolls series, and the first 3D entry. Making some significant gameplay changes, Morrowind was seriously risking losing a lot of the Elder Scrolls fan base; thankfully, Bethesda (who recently released Fallout 3) pulled it off fantastically.
Thanks to the success of the game, two expansion packs were released, expanding the opportunities in an already vast and epic world to even larger proportions. On that epic note, we conclude the eighteenth part of our article. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the nineteenth part! We're so close to hitting the 20 part milestone…
