Published 2010-02-01 9:39PM by Connor Beaton

The leading international computer game design competition Dare To Be Digital is calling on developers from all over the world to step up and apply for this year’s competition. Created and organised by Scotland’s University of Abertay, the contest involves dozens of teams consisting of arts and science graduates and undergraduates from all over the world spending ten weeks together to develop a game, which will be present at the competition’s culmination as a public exhibit during the Edinburgh Interactive Festival 2010.

The organisers of the event are calling for teams with games ideas targeted for any platforms, including social networking sites, mobile phones, computers and consoles, to apply online now at daretobedigital.com. The deadline for entries is March 28th 2010, so you better hurry up. Regional selection events will be held in different cities across the UK, India, China and Norway in April.

“Being finally selected to take part in Dare to be Digital is a fabulous opportunity and many of our past competitors have gone on to achieve great things in industry or even publish their game.” said Elaine Russel, Dare Project Manager. “Even if you don’t have a team you should visit the Dare website to find out how you can be put in touch with other potential entrants and form a team entry. Some of the most successful teams are ones where the members have found each other for the first time to enter the event.”
