Fallout: New Vegas Official Announcement, Trailer
Published 2010-02-04 3:00PM by Connor Beaton

Bethesda Softworks have officially announced Fallout: New Vegas, the “next chapter” in the Fallout franchise scheduled for a release in Autumn 2010. The game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. As should be evident by the name, the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, Nevada.

The official teaser trailer can now be seen at the official Fallout website at fallout.bethsoft.com, and more information should be making its way to the website shortly. For now, we’re left only with the assurance that “Fallout: New Vegas takes all the action, [humour], and post-apocalyptic grime and grit of this legendary series [to Vegas], and raises the stakes”.

As previously mentioned by Bethesda’s Pete Hines, New Vegas is not a sequel to Fallout 3, but rather “another game in the universe”. The change in developer is perhaps testament to this. While it might not be Fallout 4, any more role-playing in the Fallout universe sounds great to me. What do you think? Drop a comment below, or tweet at us through @zConnection.
